Goals:

  • Switch claw mechanism to metal as plastic was bending
  • Review scouting
  • Review judging and responsibilities of team during judging
  • Review and meet requirements of pre-competition checklist
  • Use the robot to test its competition capabilities

Meeting Notes

  • Changed claw to metal. Added weather stripping for more grip and to prevent field damage
  • Reviewed and met requirements of pre-competition checklist
  • Reviewed scouting
  • Reviewed and identified judging responsibilities
  • Fixed a problem where the claw would not shut properly
  • Tested the robot

  • Drive robot and fix occurring problems
  • Work on strategy

Meeting Notes

  • Problems found:
    • Strafing did not work
    • Claw would not pick up blocks
    • Linear lift would not go up because lift’s rack was loose
  • Solutions:
    • Tightened the meccanum wheels
      • That did not fix the problem, but we figured out it might be a problem with the weight distribution
    • Reshaped the metal claw support therefore reshaping the claw
    • Tightened the rack on the linear lift
  • Strategy:
    • Figured out that we should get 3-4 blocks and when 20 seconds are left in the match we should attempt to get on the balancing pad for 20 points

Goals:  

  • Drive the robot and review strategies

Meeting Notes

  • Achieved driving the robot once
  • Problems:
    • The wheels slipped and didn’t spin properly
      • Fixed/ tightened the axle collars
    • Wheel hit the axel
      • Tried changing motors (no change)
      • Changed the c clip that holds the chain together (fixed)
    • The chain on the linear lift pulled the lift down
      • Rearranged wires (nothing changed)
      • Restarting both control apps fixed it
    • Claw was not moving
      • Setscrew was loose (retightened screw)

Goals:

  • Practice driving

Meeting Notes

  • Both groups took turns driving and working on a strategy. The main strategy is to go for a row of cubes and then drive on the balancing pad. The row gives 10 points, each cube gives 2 points, 2 times 3 is 6. 10 for the row, plus 6 for the cubes, plus 20 for the balancing pad equals 36 points.
  • The goal is to be able to get 2 rows of cubes because that will give a total of 52 points. The best we have gotten is 2 blocks in the second row.
  • We also talked about alliance groups. We want an alliance partner that can do the relic because we are not able to do that. We would be able to have an alliance partner on either balance pad because we do not have to worry about our  autonomous program start position.

  • Get program working, practice driving

Meeting Notes

  • Made sure B moved linear lift up and A moved it down
  • Calculated ticks per inch
  • Set maximum and minimum limits for lift’s motor
  • Practiced driving
  • Started to fix lift system because a screw was loose which caused the lift to lean forward
  • Changed position of plate at the back of the claw
